Day 1 Portugal / Delhi
Departure by flight to Delhi by the chosen route. Night on board.
Day 2 Delhi
Arrival and accommodation. Breakfast. City tour: Jamma Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Then a visit to the Red Fort. Later, you will approach New Delhi: Raj Ghat, a panoramic view of the government buildings along the Raj Path and the imposing Gateway of India. Followed by a visit to the Sikh Temple and the 72m-high Qtub Minar.
Day 3 Delhi / Alsisar (Mandawa) (283 km)
Full board. Departure for Alsisar in the Shekavati region. Lunch in a restaurant. Visit to Mandawa's most important havelis, old houses with painted exteriors that preserve the true Rajasthani way of life. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4 Alsisar / Bikaner (195 km)
Full board. Drive to Bikaner, a welcoming and beautiful town surrounded by impressive walls that used to be an obligatory passage for caravans. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the 16th century Junagarh Fort, made up of ancient palaces, temples and a mosque. End with a visit to the camel farm. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5 Bikaner / Jaisalmer (325 km)
Half board. Drive to Jaisalmer, the "Golden City", located in the heart of the Thar Desert. Lunch en route in a restaurant. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Day 6 Jaisalmer / Desert Dunes / Jaisalmer
Breakfast. In the morning, visit the city of Jaisalmer, whose inhabitants still live in houses dating from the 12th to the 15th centuries, with facades decorated with exquisite stone work that resembles authentic stone embroidery. We'll see some "havelis", sumptuous mansions built by wealthy merchants in the 17th century. In the afternoon, depart for the dunes, where you will take a camel ride to watch the sunset.
Day 7 Jaisalmer / Jodhpur (280 km)
Breakfast. Departure by road to Jodhpur. Surrounded by a large defensive wall, Jodhpur is known as the "blue city" due to the deep blue of its houses, which contrasts with the golden sand dunes of the nearby Thar Desert. In the afternoon, we climb up to Meherangarh Fort, where the Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal stand out. Inside, we stroll past red sandstone palaces with filigree windows. We also visit the royal crematorium of Jashwant Thada and the gardens of Mandore.
Day 8 Jodhpur / Ranakpur / Udaipur (260 km)
Half board. Drive to Ranakpur to visit the Jain Temple of Adinath. Lunch at a restaurant and continue the journey to Udaipur. Considered one of the 7 pearls of Rajasthan, it is surrounded by a wall with 5 gates. It lies to the east of Lake Pichola, a veritable oasis in the desert.
Day 9 Udaipur
Breakfast. Drive around the two lakes to visit the City Palace Museum, which displays a valuable collection of miniatures and porcelain, and the charming Maidens' Garden (Shehalion Ki Bari). Then a visit to the Crafts Museum.
Day 10 Udaipur / Chittorgarh / Pushkar (330 km)
Half board. Departure for Chittorgarh to visit its Fort with the famous "Victory Tower". Lunch in a restaurant and onward journey to Pushkar.
Day 11 Pushkar / Jaipur (180 km)
Breakfast, visit the small town of Pushkar with its sacred lake and Ajmer, the capital of the Rajputs. Visit the tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Muin-ud Din Chishti. In the afternoon, drive to Jaipur, the "pink city", which owes its name to the color of the sandstone with which the buildings of the old city were built.
Day 12 Jaipur / Amber / Jaipur
Breakfast. In the morning, visit the Amber Palace-Fortress, which offers a spectacular view from the road. Climb up to the fortified palace whose pavilions are adorned with paintings and marble filigree. On the way back to Jaipur, visit the Maharaja's Palace and its museums. Visit to the Jai Singh Observatory.
Day 13 Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra
Breakfast. Departure by road towards Agra, visiting the "abandoned city" of Fatehpur Sikri, the imperial capital frozen in time. It was the last city built by Akbar and abandoned due to lack of water. Lunch in Bharatpur. Continue to Agra, which alternated with Delhi as the capital of the Mughal Empire.
Day 14 Agra / Delhi
Breakfast. Visit to the spectacular Red Fort and its white marble palaces, which rise majestically on the banks of the tranquil Yamuna River, as well as the Taj Mahal, a white marble poem built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a monument to love, which, with unsurpassed architectural perfection, captivates all who behold it. In the afternoon, departure for Delhi airport. Extension Khajuraho and Varanasi Day 14: Agra Breakfast. Day 15 Delhi / Portugal
Early morning flight back to Portugal. Arrival. Khajuraho and Varanasi extension Day 15 Agra / Orcha / Khajuraho Half board. Depart by train for Jhansi and continue by road to Orcha, a former state capital. Visit to the Raj Mahal Palace. After lunch, continue by road to Khajuraho, home to India's most exquisite temples, built between the 10th and 11th centuries by the Chandela kings. Characterized by their bas-reliefs and erotic sculptures, they are as impressive in their construction as they are in their setting.
Day 16 Khajuraho / Varanasi
Khajuraho and Varanasi Extension Breakfast Visits to some of the 22 remaining temples or nagaras. Although they have very different motifs, the best known are the so-called "mithuna", which stand on high platforms. Departure by road to Varanasi, the city of a thousand steps and the holiest city in India.
