MEDIEVAL JAPAN

A journey where you can experience authentic Japan in Kanazawa, Shirakawago and Takayama and
also enjoy an onsen at our hotel in Gero.

Day 1 Portugal / Tokyo
Departure by flight to Tokyo, by the chosen route. Night on board.
Day 2 Tokyo
Arrival in Tokyo, capital of Japan, the land of harmony. Transfer and accommodation.
Day 3 Tokyo
Breakfast. In the morning, visit the Meiji Shrine. Continue to the Asakusa district to visit the Asakusa Kannon Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo. Stroll through the Nakamise shopping area, full of narrow streets from the Edo period. The tour ends at the Imperial Palace Square and the Ginza district. Afternoon at leisure. Return to the hotel at your own expense.
Day 4 Tokyo / Hakone / Tokyo
Half board. Departure for Hakone, for a short boat trip on beautiful Lake Ashi. Visit to the Owakudani Valley. Lunch. Visit to the Hakone Open Air Museum, located in the mountains of Hakone in an area of over 70,000m2, where a total of 120 masterpieces of modernist and contemporary sculpture are exhibited in the open air. Return to Tokyo.
Day 5 Tokyo / Kyoto / Nara / Kyoto
Breakfast. Departure by bullet train for Kyoto, the cultural and spiritual heart of Japan. Continue to Nara, where you can feel the atmosphere of ancient Japanese culture. Visit Todaiji Temple and Deer Park. On the way back to Kyoto, visit the old Gion district, known as the geisha district.
Day 6 Kyoto
Half board. Full-day city tour: the Sanjusagendo temple with its more than 1,000 statues of the goddess Kannon, the Fushimi Inari shrine with its thousands of tori, the Kinkaku-ji temple better known as the "Golden Pavilion". Lunch. Continue to Tenryu-ji temple with its beautiful Japanese garden, and the beautiful bamboo forest in Arashiyama.
Day 7 Kyoto
Breakfast. Free day. Optional full-day visit to Hiroshima and the island of Miyajima.
Day 8 Kyoto / Kanazawa
Breakfast. Departure for Kanazawa, to visit the colorful Omicho market, the Higashichaya district and Kenrokuen Garden, one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan.
Day 9 Kanazawa / Shirakawago / Takayama / Gero
Full board. Departure for Shirakawago to visit the beautiful farmhouses, unique in the world and a world heritage site. Continue to Takayama for a walk through the historic district of Kamisannomachi with its Edo-era houses and a visit to the Yatai Kaikan, where the floats of the Takayama festival are on display. Departure for Gero. Japanese dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 Gero / Osaka
Breakfast. Departure by train for Osaka, with a change in Nagoya. Arrival in Osaka and city tour: the lively Dotombori district and Osaka Castle.
Day 11 Osaka / Portugal
Breakfast. Departure by return flight to Portugal. Night on board.
Day 12 Portugal
Arrival.
Our services
Regular airline flight in economy class (reservations in special classes). Bed and breakfast, 3 lunches and 1 Japanese dinner (drinks not included). Regular tour (shared with other clients) with local guides/assistance in Spanish. Visits by car, minibus or public/private transport with a Spanish guide (depending on the number of participants). Arrival transfer by regular bus/train with assistance in Spanish at the airport only. Departure transfer by regular bus without assistance. Travel insurance.

Price "from" based on Turkish Airlines, class W, for travel from January 6th to February 17th.

Luggage will be transported separately from Tokyo to Kyoto and from Gero to Osaka. Hand luggage is required for 1 night in Kyoto, 1 night in Kanazawa and 1 night in Gero. Only 1 suitcase (23 kg) per person is allowed. Double rooms are not guaranteed. There are no triple rooms; these are doubles with an extra bed or a smaller sofa bed.
The optional excursion to Hiroshima must be booked at the time of booking.
Some excursions may be changed for reasons of force majeure, in which case an alternative excursion will be offered at the destination and no refund will be given in these cases.
